C.C. Meneley Elementary School STEM Project
C.C. Meneley Elementary School to help the school with the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Program. C.C. Meneley Elementary School students are pre-kindergarten thru the 5th grade.
This school is in the middle of the poorest part of Douglas County. For many of the students, English is a Second Language. Our Lodge (Tom Zogorski) has been working with C. C. Meneley School for over ten years and supplying winter clothing and school supplies. This year, we will use a portion of the Beacon Grant to purchase the materials for the STEM program.
This is a new approach by C. C. Meneley’s Teachers and Administrative staff to use the STEM project as a motivational tool with a hands-on project for each student during the month of September. The objective is to help the students “imagine the possibilities.”
The project kits have instructions with diagrams that don’t require reading skills for the very young students. However, many have never handled tools before nor know how to use them. C.C. Meneley staff will recruit parents, grandparents, and Elks to assist the students in completing their project kit.
