Welcome to The Roamers
Welcome to The Roamers

A little about the Roamers. We are a group of “Footloose Wanderers” that travel both near and far. There are over 50 members in the group. We also have members from Carson City Lodge #2177 and Reno Lodge #597 who at times join us on our excursions. If you are new to our lodge we would like to welcome you whether you are an RV’er or not. Many of our destinations have camping cabins or hotels located near the destination RV facility and you are always welcome to join us in our activities and events. If you have been a member of our lodge and either did not know about the Roamers or you just got an RV we welcome you to join us in our future excursions.

The New System

We have tried in the past to schedule excursions & that did not work well. This new system will allow you to pick and choose from a larger variety of dates and locations. If you keep John in the loop about your excursions, he will put the information on the Roamers page on the website.

John’s email is: john.bellona@gmail.com

Jeri’s email is: jerinabellona@gmail.com

Once you are on the mailing list you will be notified of upcoming excursions.

Here is an example of how the new system will work:

Brother Manual Shift & friends are planning a trip to Bishop CA for Mule Days. Manual will send out a Roamers group email regarding the excursion, including dates and the RV park/Elks Lodge that he has chosen. He will give the particulars on how to make the reservations & any contact information. He may include information on lodging in the area. Roamers wishing to join the Shift’s on this excursion will contact Manual and let him know they will be joining in. They will also make their own arrangements for staying at the RV facility. They may or may not travel in a caravan or stay through all the dates. This system allows more flexibility. As for group activities that can be discussed among those going.

While we know this is a change from the past it is our hope that more people can be involved in choosing destinations, and dates of their choice. Please remember the excursion does not need to be an Elks event, it only needs you to want to invite your brothers and sister to join you on your excursion. This is a great opportunity to travel with non-Elks and give them a chance to learn about our organization.

If you have questions please do not hesitate to talk with John or Jeri.

There are a couple of annual excursions that many roamers attend yearly those will always be on the website. You will need to ask around to see who might be going on one of these excursions. Attending a lodge meeting is a great way to find out.
