Our Lodge Veterans activities include the following:
- Three visits a year to the Reno VA Hospital to hand out “thank you for your service” cards and personally thanking hospitalized Vets in person.
- Providing “Welcome home kits” for homeless Vets entering permanent housing.
- Using Elks National Foundation Freedom Grant money and/or Lodge money to help local Vets in need. This could include temporary housing, housing furnishings, car repair assistance, food, etc.
- We also help Veterans with rides to Medical appointments at the VA and assist in seeing that Vets get the VA benefits they are entitled to.
- We also assist with volunteers to hand out Ice Cream and cookies to VA patients and worker staff at the VA Reno Hospital.
