CHARITY IS THE GREATEST OF ALL VIRTUES

The mottos of all four stations of The Elks are very important. One station stands out larger to

me – LEADING KNIGHT. The motto of this station is Charity. As the chair for the Elks National Foundation, I know in detail what great charitable contributions it makes throughout the year. Our lodge does lots of charity work from volunteering time, assistance for many outside school and charity programs, helping veterans, and financial donations directly to causes through the

use of ENF grant money. I encourage all members who are not ENF donors to donate, all members who are active donors to renew your donations and all previous inactive donors to reactivate donations. Also, don’t forget your blue pigs for the State Major Project, another great charity.

Quoting a recent Leading Knight comment “Charity is the greatest of all virtues,

and should rule our heart among the rest of the fruits of the Spirit.”

Please consider becoming an ENF donor TODAY.

ENF Gratitude Grant
ENF Gratitude Grant

October 2024

Tahoe/Douglas Lodge 2670 in Nevada used $2198 ENF Gratitude Grant to purchase 720 dictionaries for all the 3rd grade students in Douglas County, South Lake Tahoe, Ca., and couple other small communities in California. This year we were able to purchase some Spanish-English dictionaries for Bijou Elementary School which is a Spanish Immersion Bilingual School program. The teachers were thrilled to be able to have their students have access to these dictionaries which will help enable them to reach their goal of being literate in both English and Spanish by the time they graduate from the 5th grade.
