2025-26 Citizen of the Year
Amanda Johnson

This year's Tahoe/Douglas Elks Lodge Citizen of the Year is Amanda Johnson. Amanda is a Douglas County native and has been involved in the community for most of her life. While attending Douglas High School, Amanda was involved in THEO, (Tigers Helping Each Other). She attended UNR with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies. The education she experienced at DHS and UNR motivated her to become a leader. Amanda organized the first Carson Valey Days Walk, Jog, Run in 2006 and in 2011, wrote the 501c(3) charter for what became the Center for Hope and Healing. In 2022 Amand worked with community and local pilots to create the Hot Air For Hope which has grown to the second largest hot air ballon event in Nevada.

Who are Elks? Elks Care, Elks Share. Are YOU an Elk?
Elks Lodges bring so much more to their communities than just a building, golf course or pool. They are places where neighbors come together, families share meals, and children grow up.
Elks invest in their communities through programs that help children grow up healthy and drug-free, by undertaking projects that address their immediate needs, and by honoring the service and sacrifice of our veterans.

Interested in becoming an Elk and joining a Lodge? Please fill out this form and we'll direct your request to the appropriate lodge. Thank you!
